He seems to want to attack Iran so badly he can taste it but is it within his power to so . Does he need to go before congress or did we let the cat out of the bag with the patriot act . Will we regret giving the president so much unchecked power .

the patriot act has nothing to do with military deployment. You need to read up on your civics.

Look at the War Powers Act. Bush can do what he wants to for a limited time. The Patriot act is an act designed to ferret out red tape, and nothing more.

He has said that he doesn't want to invade/ attack Iran so this whole question is based in BS. Bush has stated that our troops can take action against Iranian militants and insurgents that are trying to hurt the efforts inside Iraq. If Bush told our troops not to protect themselves against the Iranian insurgents wouldn't that be stupid.

I saw Jim Leher interview Alberto Gonzales. He said the president believes he can do anything in the name of protecting America. With or without the approval of Congress.

I sure hope someone will try to keep the crazy leader of Iran from getting nuclear weapons. If Bush does not do it who will?

i imagine it relies upon on us as a rustic. I mean, how far can we ought to enable Iran push us? And Bush says what he needs to do yet that doesn't mean he will do it. in spite of each thing, he will decide on the help for his decision. i'm unclear too in this.

Bush will use Patriot Act to engage in more senseless military operations and tarnish America's image with the rest of the world further. He already has way too much unchecked power.

I think he'll attack regardless. It is on the agenda, it was always on the agenda and the reason for the recent troop surge.

Listen to the SOTU address, he doesn't come out and "say" he's going to attack Iran but he might as well for all the subtle innuendo he's dropped.

I think the Dem's will shamefully sit on their hands when he attacks too...and he knows it.

Bush is too busy attacking his credibility to direct an attack anywhere else.
