Could of been from various things, maybe it started as a mutation in a gene and it was inherited or maybe from another monkey that caught it from their food (such as insects) or even water.

Well the "Hunter theory" sounds like it could happen, but I would never eat monkey so I dont know how they would get aids unless they were eating those dirty animals! makes sense to me. ♥

maybe monkeys are immune to aids. just like you can get deseases from rats but the desease doesnt affect rats.
