Because your religious convienence to stir fanaticism has no connection to reality.

Only a mind is human, after it is no longer there or before it has any there to be, it is like a foot or fingernail, unique genetics (and a whole new human given the right treatment) but not human yet.

There are billions of unborn, (and unconcieved) that Liberals have great concern over but Conservatives do not. Nor are they at all concerned for those actually born.

The idea that a fetus is human is a very recent ideology, not even taken seriously by the churches that preach it.
If you doubt it, check out all the graveyards of miscarriages, that are the natural abortions that have taken place for centuries. There are no such graveyards! (except a few very recently created as political grandstanding)

It seems to be a global problem and no situation is the same as to why women are making the final decision to go thru with this. Does "why" really matter? What really should matter is "if" and "when" part of that sort of decision.

Ironic isn't it, killing children yet parents who spank or are grounded in structure in their home are losing their children because they love them enough to teach them limits and the difference between right and wrong. On the flip side...kill your child...murder is acceptable. What is our country doing promoting physical and spiritual death?

Its not taken lightly. Like any medical procedure the experience can be very traumatic for the woman undergoing it.

Besides there are the secondary problems:

A woman has to fear violent extremists who could set off a bomb harming and killing innocent people just because of a legal medical procedure.

Or she might have to face an angry mob of verbally abusive protesters shoving bloody pictures in her face. I watch the Learning Channel too, but I do not carry a picture of an appendectomy around with me, and you should hear some of the foul language coming out of those women's mouths.

Talk about throwing the first stone! If I was a woman I would be worried about getting stoned to death before getting a chance to explain that I was just getting a check-up!

Because the consequences of making it lilegal demand constant monitoring and virtual enslavement of women.

In order to fully enforce pro-life abortion law, you would need women to report for monitoring to make sure they hadn't either gotten pregnant or had an abortion without state knowledge. After they were pregnant you would have to monitor them to make sure if they had a miscarriage that it was natural rather than induced. You would prosecute women for miscarriages on fact-finding missions. You would fundamentally alter the role of women in our society.

It would be like prosecuting thought crimes. It is impossible.

My question is... why is anyone else's personal decision any of your business?

No one is forcing you to have an abortion. No one is proposing that you be forced. If you haven't had one, abortion doesn't affect your life at all.

Meanwhile, why are all the thousands of murdered Iraqi children taken so lightly? Actual, living, breathing children, murdered by order of George W. Bush (seeing as it's our military doing it and he's the most senior military officer). Why no outrage over killing REAL children, but so much indignation over "killing" something that isn't even a child yet?

Abortion should be a woman's right to choose. The constitution says we are free, and that we will always be. It is your life, and your choice. Having a baby is a huge decision, if your not ready to be a mom then its probley best.

Because when was the last time you heard anything from an unborn baby? Abortion is one of those things that nobody wants to discuss. That way they can go around sleeping with whomever and pull out the abortion card to get them out of an unwanted pregnancy. Its like divorce, as long as there is that option marriage will never be taken seriously. What's amazing is women have put their individual rights above the rights of another potential human being. All in the name of women's lib!

Deep down most realize that the nation is already unable to support the children in the system and in their care, adding more would just tax an already broken system.

That and there is no legal definition as to when life begins, while the fetus is dependand upon the mother for survival it is not deemed a person, therefore it is perfectly legal to terminate a pregnancy
