As we age...time is like a ball rolling down a hill.
The first years....a year seemed to last forever. The hill was flat.
The teen years...seemed to last a long time. The hill was flat through school
In college....the assignments seemed like you did not have enough time to do all the homework....the hill was starting to form.
Finding a job after college...deadlines were demanded, not enough hours in a day....the hill becomes steeper.
You are retired....now days blend into days...and the holidays get closer together....where did the time go?
The hill is very steep.
and you wonder...where does the time go?
so...when you are ten, and a year goes by...that is 1/10th of your life.
When you are 25...it is 1/25
When you are 50...it is 1/50th...so as you age...the year goes by that much faster.

Yeah, I do. Though I don't feel it's absurdly short. Maybe two, three hundred years would be enough. Fear of death is a *****, but if I were forced to exist forever that would create a whole different kind of existential panic. And if I existed just as long as I didn't kill myself, then obviously at some point I would. It might be a thousand years, it might be ten thousand or a hundred thousand years... but at some point it'd be enough.

yes, when I look back on my childrens childhood I think Crap that went too quick! When my father passed away I thought to myself gosh he was only 64 years old and he missed so much.
I hope this isn't all there is, I am hoping that when I go I will not be sucked up by the giant hole of nothingness but enlightened to a higher place of learning where there is no pain or disease to continue my journey.

Seems to me that I've been living forever and frankly this life gig is getting old ( no pun intended ). I just wish God would just bring me home as suicide goes against all my principles and religion. I' m tired and bored. I may take up drinking again. even though it may inadvertantly kill me in the process which is why I quit in the first place. I wish life "was" shorter". There's gotta be something better and different.

I hear you. Some days just to flying by and before you know it, the year is over. But, I think it's kind of funny when people say "life is short"... what's longer than life itself?

Yeah, pretty much anytime there's a moment I never weant to end. But I don't want it too long, either, cause then it'd end with people all alone. It's kinda no one wins thing.
