...about shutting down part of the city in reaction to the Adult Swim campaign of lit and wired boxes throughout the city? Personally, I'm not shocked by Boston's reaction. They are always more careful. I think that niether Turner Broadcasting nor anyone else has the right to commandeer public property and cause trouble to provide free advertising for themselves. Do you think Turner should pay back the city of Boston and state of Massachusetts for the $1M expenses incurred?

I'm fascinated by the pro-Turner reactions. If you live in Boston, then Turner just charged you $1M to put up their ads while grabbing untold millions in publicity. Someone who needed an ambulance might have died in the shutdown. You can see from the interviews that the people who did it are idiots who will have to go to jail. It amazes me what some people think is funny.

Boston looks a bit dumb for not realizing they DIDN'T contain explosives. What's next? Blowing up every unattended backpack & car in a no parking zone close to a building? Bombs can be hid in many things, and a true bomber would try to hide them. A true hoaxer would make something that looked more like a bomb.

People put up signs & posters all the time, but they are usually paper or just flat. Turner can pay the fine. That's what they are guilty of.

Posting signs without authority - it is unlawful to affix any type of signs, bills or posters on city polls, buildings or structures. Those found in violation will be assessed a $300 fine.

I think they over reacted. Those same signs were placed in 10 other cities without causing a ripple. They should have done a tiny bit of investigation before they went crazy crying wolf. Turner Broadcasting has accepted full responsibility and will probably pay the costs Boston incurred.
