Buy and Algae Eater. don't buy an algae eater that will out grow your tank. I LOVE chinese algae eaters 1-5", and maybe 2-3 Otacinclus algae eaters (get about 1"). These are great for guppie tanks and adds some fish to it as well. DO NOT get a Plecostomos as they will without a doubt outgrow your 10 gallon tank. I have seen first hand a baby plecostomos grow 10" in a 10 gallon tank in about 8 years.

brown aglea without a doubt. While it is not harmful in any way to the fish, it is a direct link to high nitrates in the water. Be sure to clean the gravel well when you do your water changes and try increasing the changes to 30 - 40% per week for a few weeks and it should slowly clear on up. Cutting back on the lighting will help some as well.
Many algae eating fish do not like brown algae and will only eat it if starving, buy this, buy that is not always the answer.

Algae bloom, diatoms by the sound of it. I would feed a bit less, and check if something you put in the tank is adding silicates to the water. I'd check your substrate or rock.

Its just brown agae. You can use a toothbrush to scrub it off. Its not harmful to the fish, but it is kind of ugly. Ive had the same problem and I just scrub it off when it grows.

Even if it is not algae, then you still should have an algae eater (a plecostomos). They are not very expensive. I recommend getting a small one because they are cheaper and they will grow as large as the tank requires them.
