My partner and I are currently looking to relocate. We have adopted children of different nationalities so we are looking for a safe and fun place to call home. Its not bad where we are at now, but crime is high and the education sys is awful.. Would prefer not to be in a big city, but I dont know if thats possible. Any info and or input would be appreciated..

Alexandria, Virginia. Alexandria is a beautiful city with a good school system and the city itself is very diverse. It is a large city with parks for children to play in. Plenty of organic places to eat at. So many shopping places and so little time. Washington D.C. 15 minutes away when there's no traffic also you can catch the metro if you get tired of driving. Great public transportation system. However, one big downside is the traffic!
You can check out the community of Del Ray in Alexandria.

Also, you would be a hour and half from Richmond, Virginia. 2 to 3 hours to Virginia Beach. You would be 1 hour away from Baltimore, Maryland (go to the harbor in Baltimore, it's great!). Finally, the whole state of Virginia is wonderful and Virginia is for lovers!

a suburb of Milwaukee, WI. Like Brookfield, Oak Creek, Elm Grove... You have the advantages of a decent size city and yet Milwaukee is still small enough to have lots of kind, thoughtful, open minded people. We have a beautiful art museum in Milwaukee as well as great summer festivals the whole summer long. Plenty of things to do all year round. Plus you are in right in between Chicago (if you need great shopping) and Madison.
ps. We are planning to start the adoption process soon and there are many adoption groups in this area for support. Good luck with your search!

Well, I have a great place for you to go, but it is part of a large metro area. Saint Paul, Minnesota is a great place to raise a non-traditional family. It is very diverse. There is an area in Saint Paul called Highland Park that is a good neighborhood to raise children in. There are many parents with adopted children there, and I'm sure you would fit in nicely.
