Steve has a profound reaction to the tarot card from Benjy and Kayla insists he get a complete physical to determine if anything is wrong. He gets an MRI but the results are normal.

Marlena refuses to believe that John's brain will never recover from the shooting. Bo and Steve enter and when John hears Steve's voice, his blood pressure shoots sky high. As Steve and Marlena talk, neither notices John's hand move slightly, trying to touch Steve. Marlena has a dream that John is trying to communicate to her but can't get through. Roman informs her that EJ has escaped to Mexico, then convinces her to go home and rest. Once she's gone, John manages to whisper her name.

Bo and Hope celebrate the birth of their baby daughter. They try to choose a name for her but have no luck and decide to hold a baby-naming contest. In the meantime, they'll call her by her nickname -- Doodlebug. Shawn apologizes to Bo for not trusting him about EJ and they bond.

Abe tells Max and Mimi that the skeleton they found was not a Civil War solider but a murder victim. Mimi gives Abe the skeleton's ring. She has a bad feeling that she's seen it before. Max and Mimi agree there is something between them but they should take it slow.

Mimi and Bonnie visit Patrick in jail. Bonnie is more upset about the skeleton; she fears a secret could be revealed that will damage her family. Bonnie calls her younger son, Connor, and demands that he come home. Bonnie informs Billie and Chelsea that they'll have to move out to make room for Connor. Mimi learns Connor went missing while on his way home; it turns out he was arrested.

Max and Mimi are about to make love when Shawn and Claire enter. Shawn apologizes to them for being a bad friend and asks for his job back. Max obliges. Mimi takes Claire for a walk and freaks when a photographer takes pictures of them. Shawn tells Belle he fears Beverly, the woman they met at Java Café, is investigating them. Later, we see the photographer handing Beverly the photos. At the hospital, Shawn tells Belle about the photographer, then Beverly arrives with a court order to take Claire! Shawn and Belle barricade themselves in the hospital chapel with Claire. They consider running away but Steve and Kayla arrive and talk them out of it. Belle surrenders Claire to Beverly.

Abe reassures Lexie that Roman was just doing his job when he "interrogated" her about John's shooting. He worries that Lexie will have to take care of him as he loses his vision and she ensures him that taking care of her husband could never be a burden.

Lexie meets Tek to find out if he's sure it was EJ he saw shoot John. She says she'll send Tek a photo of EJ to confirm but after that, she wants him out of her life. She has to lie again to Abe about her whereabouts when he calls and Tek warns her she needs him in order to save her marriage.

Feeling guilty, Sami does not tell Roman that she helped EJ escape. She claims she saved Lucas on her own. Sami finds Marlena in the chapel, furious with John for breaking his promise to her. Sami reassures Marlena that John loves her and will fight to survive. Sami and Lucas are reunited at the hospital. Kate learns how Sami saved Lucas and later tells Roman she doesn't believe it.

Chelsea asks Maggie for a waitressing job at Chez Rouge. Maggie hires her on a trial basis. Nick goes to the Lockhart house to tell Chelsea the truth about "Lonely Splicer" but finds Billie instead. Billie has read Steve's "Dear John" letter and downed a bottle of wine. The two commiserate and end up making love! Meanwhile, Chelsea is at Chez Rouge when Willow appears demanding her job back. Maggie agrees but Willow must train Chelsea. Willow sabotages Chelsea and convinces Maggie to fire her. Chelsea returns home and Nick ducks into a bedroom just in time. Chelsea finds Nick's belt, however, and realizes Billie has been with a man. She presses her mother for every detail. Nick tries to sneak out but Chelsea catches him and he invents a story about having info on 'Lonely Splicer.'

Roman takes Marlena home. She admits she believes John is awake inside his comatose body, despite what the tests say. She falls asleep and is woken by the sound of John's voice. She follows it to the balcony but is pulled back by Roman, who thought she was about to fall. Roman insists it was a dream.

Victor offers Belle and Shawn a deal: they agree that Philip is Claire's primary parent, and he'll let them be a part of her life. Shawn throws him out. He and Belle are subpoenaed to appear in court the next day. Belle and Shawn's lawyer has grim news: Victor has evidence that they are unfit parents. Alone with Belle, Shawn vows he won't lose Claire. If it comes down to it, they'll take Claire away from Salem for good!

Bo and Steve head out to the Child Protective Services office to confront Beverly. Bo demands to see Claire and Beverly tells him she is being turned over to foster parents until the hearing. Steve has another episode and freaks out in the office! Beverly calls the cops. Bo restrains Steve and he snaps out of it. Bo urges Steve to see a shrink. Meanwhile, Kayla and Hope care for the new baby. Hope asks Kayla if she wants more children and Kayla confides she doesn't think Steve is fit to be a father right now. Stephanie announces to Steve and Kayla that she's taken a job with a race crew in Dayton.

Mimi and Bonnie bail Connor out of jail. Bonnie reminds him they have to make sure Mimi never finds out what Bonnie did; she would never understand. Connor helps Bonnie sneak into the morgue and steal the skeleton, but once they have it, they realize they have no plan.

Abe tells Max and Mimi that the skeleton's ring was reported stolen six years ago so this was a recent murder. Mimi agrees to help by trying to remember where she saw the ring. Mimi's family is driving her nuts and Max offers her a place to stay. She accepts and they are on their way to romance, but are interrupted by Shawn, who asks them to be character witnesses for him and Belle the next day in court.

Shawn and Belle go to court to determine who will win custody of Claire. Victor accuses them of negligence and brings in Willow to testify that Shawn worked for a criminal. Shawn and Belle defend themselves. All are shocked when a bandaged man is wheeled into the hearing room -- Philip! He takes off the bandages and Belle cries out "that's not Philip!" Victor explains Philip's injury and that he is here to claim his rights as Claire's legal father. Meanwhile the judge makes his decision and orders Shawn and Belle to take parenting classes for three months. He awards Philip temporary custody for ninety days. Shawn attacks Philip.

Lexie is at the police station to I.D. John's shooter. She stalls Roman and is able to send photos from the line-up to Tek, who is certain it's E.J. Lexie makes the I.D. but Roman suspects something is wrong and reveals to Bo his concern. Later, Abe and Lexie are called to the morgue where they discover the skeleton is missing. Abe thinks the person who stole it may be the killer and he assigns a sketch artist to draw a picture of the thief.

At Bonnie's house, she and Connor are trying to figure out where to hide the bones. They freak out when Abe and Lexie come looking for Mimi. Bonnie is determined to dump the bones deep in the water. Later, Max and Mimi are about to make love but are interrupted by Abe and Lexie, who report that the skeleton has been stolen.

Billie tells Kate, Sami and Lucas that she and Chelsea have been kicked out of the Lockhart house. Kate wants them to live with her, but Sami suggests they move into Lucas' old apartment. Billie agrees, much to Kate's annoyance.

Nick tells Abby he gave Chelsea the "name" of her online lover. Abby still wants him to come clean but he's not ready. Later, when Chelsea orders him to find more info, he snaps at her and storms out. Abby praises Nick for standing up to Chelsea. Later, Chelsea confides in Abby about the new mystery man her mom is seeing; she found his belt. Abby realizes it could have been Nick. She confronts him and learns the truth -- he slept with Billie! Meanwhile, Chelsea meets Billie at the pub and learns they're moving into their own apartment.

Billie tells Bo she fell off the wagon and he takes her to an AA meeting. She also confides she slept with a much younger man. Bo tells her a story of his own youthful encounter with an older woman and the confidence it gave him.

After the court hearing, Shawn goes to confront Willow. She tells Shawn that Victor paid her $10,000 to lie to the judge, but it's his own fault. Shawn never stands up to anyone. Willow offers to confess her lies if Shawn kisses her. He moves in for the kiss, but she laughs in his face and tells him she proved her point. Maggie intervenes and Shawn tells her what Willow has done. Maggie fires Willow.

Mimi tries to convince Philip not to take Claire, but he is adamant. They were once friends, but now Shawn and Belle won't compromise. They didn't even care about his loss. As Philip leaves the room, Mimi discovers a passport in Claire's name and realizes they're planning to take Claire out of the country. Philip tells her to get out! Mimi tells Shawn about Philip's plan. She tells him to inform the cops, but Shawn is done playing by the rules. He's going to steal Claire!

Mimi tells Max about finding Claire's passport. She is sure Philip is planning on taking her out of the country. She even called Victor's office and found out he's leaving for Europe the next day. Mimi theorizes that they haven't left the country yet because they need to get Claire immunized. Shawn and Belle show up and Mimi shares her theory with them. Shawn calls Kayla and asks to find out if Claire has been scheduled for immunization. Kayla confirms. Claire is expected at the hospital the next day.

Shawn, Belle, Max and Mimi arrive at the hospital to carry out their plan. Belle insists on saying goodbye to John and tells him what she's doing and why. Marlena walks in and Belle is forced to tell her the plan. Marlena offers to help, but Belle tells her no. Philip arrives at the hospital and Belle asks if she can hold Claire. He agrees. While Belle holds Claire, Shawn springs out and tackles Philip. Belle runs out with the baby and they all get to the car.

Marlena is agonizing over her decision about John's care. Sami comes in and tells John she was wrong about him; she loves him. Marlena finds an Italian coin from their trip. She tells John she's decided he needs better care than she can give him by herself. Later, the Italian coin has disappeared.

Sami, Lucas and Will are closer than ever and Kate is fit to be tied. Roman announces that Sami will be honored with a police citation for her good deed. Sami swears she has turned her life around.

Sami is set to retrieve her award for saving Lucas. Kate is there and Will warns her to get over her doubts and give Sami another chance or Kate will lose him and Lucas. Roman presents the award and then Kate stuns everyone by telling Sami she wants a fresh start.

Bo, Hope and Kayla are at the pub for Sami's award ceremony. They try unsuccessfully to reach Shawn and Belle. Marlena arrives and tells them what the kids are planning. Bo wants to stop them, but Hope agrees with Marlena: they have no choice because Philip and Victor were planning to take Claire out of the country. Philip comes in and says anyone who helped the kidnappers is going to pay.

Kate tells Lucas she thinks he's making a mistake trusting Sami. Kate thinks Sami's covering the fact that someone helped her move the beam and save him. Lucas doesn't believe her. Kate vows to herself to prove she's right.

Sami gets a call from EJ, who's in Mexico. He tells her he still thinks about their night together. Sami begs him not to ruin her life. EJ assures her everything will be fine as long as she keeps her mouth shut about how he made his escape. Unbeknownst to Sami, Lucas hears a part of her conversation. Sami is forced to admit EJ was on the phone. He's proud of her for telling the truth and they make love.

Chelsea IM's 'Lonely Splicer,' informing him that she knows his true identity, thanks to some snooping by a "Lame-O" friend of hers. Nick is hit hard by her message and suggests she is the real "Lame-O." Chelsea is afraid she's blown it with "Shane" and resolves to be a good person like he wants her to be. Meanwhile, Nick unburdens himself to Dr. Rebert, leaving out the details that will incriminate him. Rebert suggests Nick "kill" Shane Patton to end the online charade.

Before she leaves for her new job, Stephanie has a heart-to-heart with her father. He suggests she live each day as if it were her last. She tells him to take his own advice. Steve and Stephanie share an emotional goodbye, then he has another excruciating episode. Finally, unable to take it any longer, he flips out and trashes the Salem Inn suite. Desperate, he calls Bo and asks him for a job with the Salem P.D. Bo reluctantly asks Steve to go down to Mexico City and try to persuade EJ to return to Salem to face prosecution. Steve accepts and Bo makes him promise to take Kayla with him just in case he has another episode.

Steve finds EJ in a Mexican bar, and tries to convince him to come back to Salem. He isn't interested. Steve lets him know about the eyewitness. EJ asks Steve how he's feeling and describes Steve's recurring visions. Steve demands EJ tell him who did this to him. EJ refuses and starts to leave. Steve fakes an episode and attacks EJ. Steve gets thrown out but has palmed EJ's cell phone and wallet.

Abe realizes Lexie lied about seeing John's shooting and confronts her. She admits she was with Tek and Abe kicks her out. Lexie meets Tek and he urges her to run away with him. As they drive, a car forces them off the road and we hear a crash!

Steve comes back from Mexico and reveals that EJ will have to return to Salem for his travel papers. Bo agrees to allow Steve to help Shawn and Belle escape. Belle and Shawn are in an abandoned church with Claire. Max comes by with supplies and news that Philip and Victor have called the cops. Philip goes to Mimi and physically forces her to tell him where Shawn and Belle are.

Steve arrives at the church with a stolen delivery truck. Philip arrives and faces off with Shawn, then tries to take Claire, but Steve knocks him out. Shawn and Steve throw Philip in the basement and they take off for Canada. Steve represses his flashbacks as he drives. Meanwhile, Philip is freed from the basement and learns about the stolen truck. He accuses Roman of bias in Claire's "kidnapping."

When Steve sees they are being pursued by the police, he moves to the back of the truck and pelts the cop cars with boxes. Near the Canadian border, he jumps from the speeding truck. Shawn, Belle and Claire make it to Toronto, where an old hippie brings them to a safe house and gives them a map of countries they can run to. Shawn gets an idea to call the pay phone at Brady's Pub, but only Chelsea and Nick are there and they're not sure they should answer.

Lucas and Sami are trying to have a romantic evening, but she is distracted by thoughts of EJ and keeps getting nauseous! Roman calls and tells Lucas and Sami that Lexie and Tek are missing. Sami thinks EJ killed them. She breaks down and confesses to Lucas that she's pregnant. She hides that there is a 50% chance the baby is EJ's. When Lucas heads out to get supplies to celebrate, Sami receives a local call from EJ. Lucas returns to a distraught Sami. She assures him she wants to have his baby but she can't summon the courage to tell him the truth.

Kate blasts EJ for running out on her. Because of him, her accounts have been frozen. EJ tells her she's either with him or against him. What's it going to be?

Victor orders Lucas to track down Shawn and Belle and bring Claire back. Lucas refuses and is fired. Meanwhile, Sami confronts EJ and he professes his love and swears he would never hurt her. He asks if she's pregnant and she lies and says no. After she leaves, EJ learns the charges against him have been dropped. Later, Sami asks Lucas to keep her pregnancy a secret for now.

Chelsea takes Nick and Abby out to dinner to apologize for being mean. Billie enters and Chelsea announces she wants to enroll at Salem U, and she wants Abby to attend full-time with her. She then presses Billie for info on her "mystery lover." Billie makes a quick exit and Nick follows. Billie apologizes to Nick for not showing more restraint the night they made love. She tries to steer him toward Chelsea, but he doesn't think she's interested. Later, Chelsea presses Nick to help her get a job. He is worried about getting Chelsea a job at his lab, where Dr. Rebert, the face of her internet lover, works. Dr. Rebert tells him he's looking for a new lab assistant. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Abby learn they've both been accepted to Salem U.

Bonnie and Connor are exhausted from burying the bones in their backyard. Mimi sees them covered in dirt and wonders what's going on. Then she receives a fax from Abe of a police sketch that looks suspiciously like Connor. She decides to investigate and finds the bones. When her questioning gets her nowhere, she threatens to call the police. Bonnie has until the morning to talk, or else!

Marlena and Kayla wait to hear from Shawn, Belle and Steve. Marlena falls asleep and dreams that John is trying to tell her something but Kayla wakes her up too soon. Kayla reveals what she knows about Steve's "episodes" and the two women bond

Shawn and Belle hide out in a Toronto safe house with Claire. They can hitch a ride on a freighter to Africa, but it will cost them $5,000. Belle tries to pawn her wedding ring, but Philip has reported it stolen. There next step? Calling Bo, but how will they get in touch with him without alerting the police? Chelsea makes a passionate plea to take the money to Shawn, but will Bo trust her? Kayla is heartsick when she learns Steve had another episode while helping Shawn and Belle. She demands he get help, but he refuses. Mimi takes the bag of bones from her back yard to Roman. She begs him not to interrogate Connor or Bonnie, but how long will it be before the truth comes out?

Shawn & Belle kidnapped their daughter Claire from Phillip who had a face transplant and are in Canada right now. Nick and Chelsey took them money so they can leave the country and go to Africa. Phillip and Willow are on their way to Canada to try and find Shawn. Max and Mimi are heating things up, John is still in the hospital and hasn't been on for over two weeks. Abe told Lexi to leave he's done with her, she left with Tec and they slid off the road while driving and are now missing. Sammy is pregnant but we don't know if it is Lucas or E.J.'s baby. Lucas is going to work for Kate & E.J. because he lost his job with Victor. And Bo & Hope still haven't named their baby they are still calling her Doodlebug

I haven't seen that show in over five years. Why, because the storylines, which used to be kind of exciting, have gotten steadily more insipid and idiotic.
