On a pure political strategy opinion, he would be smarter to choose a white male. It would be tough for him already, if he were to choose a fellow African American as his running mate he would have no chance of winning. The States aren't that welcoming yet.

I hope he gets in, too bad if he doesen't. I think even though everyone has their opinion about him and how inexpierienced he is, what's the relevance? What difference does that make? So what if he has a muslim background? He's got what alot of people lack, guts, to give an effort to run for President, and if elected, clean up the huge mess that some other prasident will leave behind. I don't judge people by their expierience, it's all about heart and dedication, and nothing else matters.

Maybe if people would stop being so close minded about him running and just let him get on with his campaign, things would actually turn out good. I hope he is the next president, I believe in him, and quite honestly don't care what anyone else thinks. Doing so would make me a follower, and I never follow bad examples.

If he receives the nomination, he will probably choose a white man/woman simply because he is the only black who appears to be interested in the top two offices of the land at this particular point in time.

I don't think it would be appropriate for Obama or anyone to choose their running mate based on racial lines. I'm just going to leave you with who I think he could wind up choosing from, roughly in order of likelihood should he get the nomination.

1. Wesley Clark, white former General
2. Bill Richardson, hispanic Governor of New Mexico
3. Mark Warner, white former Governor of Virginia
4. Kathleen Sebelius, white female Governor of Kansas

Obama is a pleasant enough young man with no experience and a chance of the Presidency somewhere between slim and none. Who would be dumb enough to run with him, black or white?

Obama should use the brilliant strategery designed by Dubya: choose a running mate so loathsome to the general populace that no one will attempt to assassinate you. Nothing says life insurance like the words "Dick Cheney".

Neither....A one-legged Cambodian-American....

P.S. Why does it matter? Why does everything have to be about race? Why not just be happy if they are the best candidate, black or white or whatever?!?!

I dont think Obama will associate with race just to latch on, that is exactly what ignorant people are afraid of.
