Better start believing it.

Well Bill, the difference with the example you used is that the ash of forest fires is not a greenhouse constituent. It settles to the earth after a short while. Now that is not to say that if that ash were to cover a large portion or all of the United States there would not be some effect on the world's weather, for there surely would be. But all the fires this year have essentially contributed nothing to a change in the earth's albedo (reflection of sunlight) or to the greenhouse gases.

Yesterday as you probably heard on the news last evening some 113 nations including the United States have now signed a declaration that climate change has very likely been caused by humans. The evidence is mounting each day that this planetary effect is a reality. Of course we still don't know the extent, the duration, or the consequences of this change in earth's weather but science and the host of observations coming in from all over the globe are showing us that something is indeed happening.

Yes ! To what degree we cannot be sure. The oil companies would have you believe that there is little change caused by burning their oil. They would also not advise us to drive at 55 mph to save 15.6% of oil now and at least 7500 lives each year. They have kept secret the fact that we could use water rather than oil for power. I saw the prototype of a water powered vehicle at the US Army Transportation School in 1965.

The scientific community seems to say we are causing a lot of the problem. The link below describes the water for fuel idea.

I'm with you... so what did the dianasaurs do to cause their downfall?!?!? Use too many fossil fuels to warm there caves? The earth has a history of ice ages and eventually it will warm again. This whole idea that humans have anything to do with it, is crazy. Maybe scientists don't want to loose their goverment grant money! If they blame humans and then have to look for a diagnostis, that will keep them employed. After reading some of the answers, I feel sorry for how gulible some people are...

It has been proved scientifically that, YES, humans are to blame for the present climate change.
The earth's atmosphere has changed more drastically over the past 50 years than in any other period of time. If we don't buckle down and change our ways, Mother Earth will do as she has done in the past when there has been drastic changes on earth (asteroids, too many volcanoes, over heating, etc.). She will bring on another Ice Age. When this happens not many of us will be able to live through it. This is her way of cleansing.

Millions of tons of crap DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at. Pun intended.

We are screwing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the aardvark.

We're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who can't accept it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
