They should be stored in a metal cabinet. Best is a fire cabinet.
But for home use a sturdy metal cabinet with doors should work fine.

Dirty oily rags should be kept in a metal trashcan with a lid. There are special fire proof trash cans for maintenance shops.

Reason.. It is not as uncommon as people think that chemicals come in contact with one another and start a fire.

In their original containers for as long as possible and those containers are clearly marked as to what is inside them.
