So whats the problem ? Deal with it, being unique is part of life. You shouldn't have to conform.
That is what rock music is all about, especially punk.
If you have a car with a loud stereo, pull up and blast your music like they all do with the hip-hop, and see how they like it.

No matter where you go to school or where you may work or live. There will always be people that are going to judge and criticise you. You need to teach yourself to drown them out and not worry about what they think. Be happy with who you are and what you are doing. Being different is what sets us appart. If we were all the same the world would be a very dull place and we wouldn't enjoy the things we do today like all the different types of music, sports, or even technologies. Someone very different from all the rest took a bold set foward, not carring what someone would think and made something great happen that you now enjoy. Hope this helps. And when you hear those brats at school trying to knock you down, just turn up the music *wink*

Nobody at that school's opinion means anything. You are your own person and have the right to listen to whatever type of music you like. This is half-way a free world where people have their own likes and dislikes. Tell these idiots to get over themselves or tell them if they don't like your music, why don't they wear ear plugs?Critical people are only cowards. They can't admit they actually like the music too. Sometimes it depends on the crowd they hang out with. They Don't want to risk ruining their reputation for being a jerk.

I have almost the exact same problem at my school. I love rock of any kind. Emo, Screamo, Gothic, Metal etc. There are about 15 of us that do. the rest of the school, about 1276, like dance *cringe*. They attempt bully us because of it but we just get on with life but when they do, it is normally verbal so we always win. =]
Maybe you should advertise yourself on bebo, myspace, etc and try and make some friends who like the same things as you if you cant find any at your school.

I don't understand the question, is there one? You're "mostly white"? You can listen to whatever you want. If you don't like the same music as everyone else, too bad. It shouldn't matter to them unless you try to make them listen to it and they hate it!

Wouldn't they expect a white boy to listen to rock? High school kids are such conformists, that they want everybody to be the same. Don't let it bother you.

so you should start trying to copy how the majority of the people in your school dress, talk, act, what they listen to etc...
or you could just be an individual and do whatever it is that you like to do, people will respect you more if you stay true to yourself than if you try to be someone you're not.

So you listen to music that doesn't consistently rhyme or talk about bit ches. Don't listen to them. If you like rock be proud about it.

I grew up in a small town in Kentucky. There were Kids who liked rock and kids that liked country---------and I prefered classical.
You're only there for four years. When you go to college things will be different.
I didn't say better----Just Different.
