Get to know people and start babysitting. Put ads in the local supermarkets. The only way to save money is to earn it.

My sister did this really cool fundraiser to raise money for the band trip that we are taking to Disney World from Washington state over Spring Break. She had my father purchase and iPOD and then sold raffle tickets to people for either three dollers apiece of five for ten dollars. She raised like... $600!! It was amazing... Ask your parents if they will lend you some money that you can reembuse them with after the fundraiser is complete. Chances are... They'll let you do it. That... Or you could do odd jobs. I did those for a while. Walk around your neighboorhood and see if anyone wants their lawn mowed for 20 bucks. Talk to a school councelor to see if any jobs are available at the school like helping with consessions. There are a TON of ways that you can earn money.

I'm not sure that anyone would suport your cause to get an mp3 player, so I don't know if "raising" money is the answer. Get involved in your new community. Ask around if anyone needs a babysitter, lawn cutter, lemonade stand or whatever. Good luck.

Well if you were here you could make some money cleaning my backyard. hahha I got to get someone tomorrow to do it.

Lot of times the only work you can do is like word of mouth. Like you might have a friend that knows of someone that needs to get things done and willing to pay, you know like washing a car, mowing lawn, or stuff. Hard to find unless you have friends there.

Do you have anything you can sell? Like maybe cds that you are tired of or books that you've already read? Some cities also have consignment shops where you can sell clothes that you've outgrown or don't like anymore. It takes a little while to get your $$$ from them though. Good luck.
