I think Valentines day is for both the women and the man. I know I go all out for my husband and he does the same for me. I have never gotten the teady bear and a box of chocolates, but my baby knows I don't like chocolate. I don't really think its about the gift but the creativity and love behind it. If anything the guys just need to stop being lame and lazy and make your girl have the best time of her life. That goes for the females too, you need to show your man some appreciation because its not all about you

I agree old teddy bear and heart-shaped presents can be quite boring. However diamonds are costly too. That he may wanna save those money for the rainy days; both yours and his rainy days. Some people just tend to look further and plan ahead, and try to spend wisely.
However, there's also a way you can go around to get what you want. Work around mens' ego and have patience. If you want him to buy you a diamond necklace, buy him something of equivalent value this year. Next year, he'll sure increase the standard of the present, possibly your diamond necklace or ring. In a relationship sometimes we have to give 1st before taking. Everyone would naturally think its unfair when he buys you a diamond necklace and you buys him a Porsche, don't you agree?

Valentine's Day is all about the companies that market it, not about men or women. Forced romance because of the date on the calendar means nothing...... if you love someone you're there for them all year round, not just on the 14th February! I don't get anything for it and have never wanted anything...a bunch of flowers when you least expect it means so much more (and generally costs so much less!!)

Keep it real invovles knowing Valentines Day got canceled over three decades ago, in 1969, back in the last days; And canceled for becoming an orgy of consumerism. Yet six countries still actively celebrate it & calendar makers still put it on calendars; Not to mention it's a windfall for candy & card makers. Go figure.
As for V-Day love and romance, law law loves oft fail & forsake.

There's one God(Love) that never faileth nor forsakes: Charity.
Charity is a biblical allegoric name for that sort of Love: Grace.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I agree what is a grown woman gonna do with a stuffed animal? If the men really want to give their women something they want give what you're able to give and give it with a smile and kiss boys. Girls should be the same way and don't take each other for granted which is the biggest killer of romance ever.

I think it should not be about the "prize" that is given. It's the thought that counts and the love behind it.
