No, but I know the area and unfortunately Camden is a very blighted and dangerous city.

Desperation has replaced hope.

If I'm wrong and they reported positive news, I'd be delighted.

No, I did not see it. I know the city certainly has its problems, though. The whole place is a mess and I don't know how anyone is going to fix it. I think a lot of its problems stem from or are made worse by the decline in jobs there. For a long time Camden has home to a number of factories and large companies, but due to globalization and outsourcing the number of jobs are few and far between.
It really is a shame, and I feel sorry for the huge population of poor lower class people who are trapped living there. And most people from outside Camden tend to try and stay out of Camden.
I know the only real contact I have with Camden is shows at the Tweeter Center. I, as a middle class white person who lives in suburban Philadelphia , really don't ever have that much business there other than that.
Anyway, yeah.. really crap city that I don't feel very safe in outside the waterfront. And that can be seedy at times as well.

Yes I saw it & it was very touching. The children of that city really have a difficult time but they still try to do their very best. It's shameful that our children have to grow up in surroundings such as in Camden & other cities like it across our country. But as long as our government keeps spending our money in other countries & on the moon instead of right in our own backyards, we can' t expect much better. Individuals & small organizations try to help but they can only do so much.

Oh my god and god bless that family. I could not believe the state of their environment, but what impressed me most was the love and sense of family. I hope they make it. But I think everyone reading this should write "Extreme Makeover". If any family deserves a break its this family. So do it people, email Extreme Makeover" and nominate this beautiful family.
