If Oscars for best documentary are awarded based upon the overall merits of the film--not just in the way it was made, but in its effect--then it should. It has made a profound impact on people, and created a desperately needed awareness among Americans of a looming global problem that threatens to dwarf all others. He's got my vote, my thanks, and my admiration.

Al Gore will not win an Oscar.
The filmmakers that turned his "Talk" as he calls it in the film will.
Anybody who hasn't seen it, can not have any valid opinion on it. Not to mention that anybody who doesn't know that global warming is the biggest global issue facing us right now has their head in the sand.

It should for best documentary
I cant imagine Bush even trying to pronounce most of any of the dialog. It was thoughtful and lucid and anyone that denies Global warming has to see it just so they could try to counter the argument, unless they are an ignoramus who wishes to remain so.

Maybe. Hollywood will fawn all over it just like they did with Micheal Moore's movie.
And look where it got him...
