Are they looking for a chance to "do things over", re-live their youth or are they just messed up? I know a number of men who left their wives for younger women - my ex included. They claimed they were not happy. However, they went back to lifestyles that they were tired of prior to getting married. They had reached a point in their lives where they were tired of partying and wanted to settle down and have kids. They did settle down, their kids are almost grown (8 - 10) and they were no longer simply making "ends meet". Now they are living the lifestyle they claimed to be tired of. They are close to 40 years old, barely making ends meet and living with woman who are in their late 20s and who will no doubt want to get married and have kids. My question - why?? I do not understand their reasoning. Is it the chance to do things over, relive their youth or are they simply messed up?

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST QUESTIONS I'VE SEEN YET. BEING A MAN CLOSE TO THE AGE YOUR ARE TALKING ABOUT I WOULD SAY IT IS MID LIFE CRISIS. THEY FEEL THAT IF THEY HOOK UP WITH SOMEONE YOUNGER AND ACT LIKE THEY ARE 20 AGAIN THEY WILL NOT BE VIEWED AS OLD AND NOT FEEL OLD AS WELL. THAT IS MY TAKE ON IT. PERSONALLY I THINK THEY ARE CRAZY AND IN THE END WILL MOST LIKELY BE THE ONE WHO GET DUMPED BY THEIR YOUNGER PARTNER. YOU USUALLY GET WHAT YOU DESERVE AND DOING THIS IS JUST WRONG...
HOPE THAT HELPS...

It will be all of those. Most men do it because they are facing a mid life crisis and its a way to try to relive what they had. They feel like the lost and are trying to have a redo. Some men just like younger girls because there skin is smooth and silky. They feel like a big man that way you know. Trying to show off there greatness if that's what they think to their friends. Sadly men who do this are stupid and I feel horrible for the woman they do it to. They are not real men because they cannot stay committed to the words they say.

Well in my expirence, most men that go after younger women its because 1. they are the trophy, it boosts their male ego to have a young girl at their age.. 2. because what comes with youth??? stupidity.. being nieve.. and their easier to be controled, and to mold into what they want.. so alot of it is male egotistical pride.. but the fact is.. alot of these relationships dont work out in the long run, usually the young girl will want to do what "young people" like to do, and her husband will be well beyond that, and she will either have to sacrafice her youth, for him, or she'll get bored with him, and taking a man that all she hears about is how tired he is, and all his aches and pains of getting older..etc..

Women that tend to go after younger guys, its usually for their libido.. not for security.. because the old man they had, wasnt fun, anymore, and either started being really selfish in the bedroom sex wise ie.. Wham bam thank u ma'am type stuff, or not wanting sex.. etc.. So they tend not to go for young ones to secure their future but to dwell in feelings young, and likeing having a man that can keep up with their sex drive.. because most men hit their sexual peek in their late teens early twenties..and most women hit theirs in their 30s.. alotttttt of men after the age of 30 start losing their sex drive (even though not a damn one will admit it so they talk all big and bad, but have u ever noticed the amount of women on her complaining that their man wont put out???) and the older they get the worse it gets.. So will tend to want to be with the strapping young buck that can .. well u know, all night long.. and make her feel like a "woman" again.. these are usually women that are secure in their lives financially and emotionally, and all they want is a play toy, usually women that need financial security, want love, and a real relationship seek out men that are either age level or older..

It's just that they are too weak too resist what they know is wrong on so many levels. The mid-life crisis must be something substantial or it wouldn't have a name - but yea, I'd say 'messed up' isn't too far off the mark.

I am in my early 30's, my man is 44............no, i was not the other woman, we met 10 years AFTER his relationship with his ex ended......we get along PERFECTLY. And I am much younger.

A lot of these women are just jealous.I KNOW his ex is jealous of me, because I am 10 years younger than her.

MEN LOVE YOUNGER WOMEN....THEY JUST DO!!!

It's because they've always been immature, and now they have to find someone who is MORE immature than they are to get viewed with some respect.
