do not run it under cold water. Run it under hot water (not scalding mind you) The ring's diameter will expand and give you that extra wiggle room you need. if that doesn't work, try that and a combination of windex.

In my case, what precluded my wedding ring from leaving my finger easily was the skin, which kind of folded and made the knucles too thick for it to slide out.

Whenever I needed - ahem ;-) - to remove my wedding ring, the only way it would come out - and it would do so very easily - was sliding it by applying all the pressure at the bottom of the ring towards the end of the finger, relaxing the ring finger and allowing the finger to arch upwards with the pressure from the other hand. That's the way to stretch the skin on the bottom of the finger, without the possibility that it would fold all around the knuckle. Easy as 1-2-3

Maybe a little soap would help you get used to the movement

I had the same things happen to me a year or two ago and I was going to have a jewler cut it off, but the jewler told me to take some dental floss and starting right where the ring met my finger to wrap my finger very tightly in the dental floss until I was able to slip the ring off easily. It worked very quickly and my finger felt better in just a couple of minutes. If the jewler cuts it off you you have to pay for that and then you have a snipped ring and your out $15, but I am sure you already have dental floss laying around, believe me, it works!

All of the answers above are good... I can add one more.

If you soak your hand in water for about 15 minutes or so it may reduce the size of your finger. You are looking for the same crinkly effect on your skin that swimming or taking a long bath produces.

The process called osmosis will make some of the fluids in your body pass thru your skin. This produces the wrinkly skin effect. This will slightly reduce the size of your finger.

Then hold up your hand like someone suggested to minimize the amount of blood, whip out the oils and butter and go to work.

good luck.

Put the stopper inthe sink and then put your hand over the sink and rub dish soap (like dawn or ivory, etc.) over your finger really good in front of ring on ring and behind ring. It should slip off easy that way. Make sure you have the stopper in the drain or you will lose the ring down the drain

You could try coating your finger in a vegetable oil and then working the ring off. (Butter or margarine or soap would also have the same effect). Good Luck!

Have you tried using hair conditioner on your ring finger and then trying to gently slide and twist the ring up and off?

If all else fails, go to a jewler and they should be able to cut it (the ring, not the finger), but I'd only do this if the other answers posted had no effect.

lol!!!

OK. first soak or hand with the ring on it in water your skin will get lighter i guess and a2ls then it will be easier for you to take it off.

if that doesn't help try putting butter on it as close as you can get under it around it.

then try soap works good do they same thing you did with butter.

then if none of the above works.... put your hand in fresh cow manure it works but really gross..

then your final option is claws of life mwuhaha
call firefighters and say "my ring is stuck on my finger bring the claws of life fast!! "

lol

good luck! hope you get it off

Either put some hand lotion or vaseline around the ring and it should slip off or you can put your finger under water and it should do the same.

Slip a piece of folded paper(if you can) between your ring and finger. use a hacksaw blade to cut it off. the paper is to protect your finger from getting scratched
