NO you can't wait to get it fixed, and from the sound of it, the cost of the fix just went up! If the wheel bearing is shot, you are generating heat on the bearing. It can end up getting fused to your axle, making the repair much more difficult and possibly requiring you to buy a new wheel spindle in addition to fixing the wheel bearing. As far as fixing it yourself, you might have been able before, but who knows after driving it around. My suggestion is to take it back to Bill Penney and have them fix or refund your money.

RE:
How does a broken wheel bearing affect my car's performance?
I just bought a used 2005 scion tc from Bill Penney Used Cars; they were supposed to fix the wheel bearing before I received it. Well according to the howling noise coming from my front right tire and the tire pressure alert coming on even after I fill up my tires, obviously this wasn't done. ...

Like everyone says, if it gets to the point of a loud howl, there is something seriously wrong.
Keep your concern focused to the entire WHEEL not just only the bearing.
I agree that the bearing is likely the cause, but if they say they fixed it it could also be something else like a broken or cracked wheel. Fortunately it is very easy to deterine either of them.
If the bearing is about to go, once the raceway is shot, the balls will fall out of the bearing and losing the shaft or the wheel is just around the corner, so like everyone else has said... DO NOT WAIT on this one. If you need to pay for it do so and then deal with Mr. Penney.

NOT GOOD... NOT SAFE
Worse case would be that the bad bearing cuts through the spindle and the whole assembly, wheel and all, just falls off as you are driving. Next worse would be that the wheel locks up and puts you into an uncontrollable skid.
Best case is you would destroy the spindle and hub and then that gets really exspensive.
Get that fixed immediately!!! Maybe they did the bearing, but did it wrong.
GO BACK... do not drive this car any further then absolutely needed

None of the above.
A binding bearing becomes a safety issue and needs to be fixed right away. The bearing can seize and lock the wheel. if that happens on the wrong place at t he wrong speed can be dangerous.
If your bearing is already binding to the point that the wheel sensor are detecting a difference between rotation for the two wheels (therefore the low pressure light) It is likely that other parts are affected as a consequence. (increasing the cost) The dealer should fix it right away or provide you with a replacement car if they cannot do it right away.

the more you drive. the more gas you are wasted because the wheel has friction due to bad bearing. try pushing a car with the brake on .it the same thing as having a bad bearing. if the bearing get worst, the wheel will lock up and you can cause an accident. you need special tools to replace the bearing and it not cheap.

UM, the brake discs don't stick to the asphalt surface very well, so braking is going to be a problem if you're stupid enough to drive it. As for economical, NO. the small diameter of the brake discs means the engine will be spinning about 10 times as fast as normal in every gear. Enough jokes for today buddy

This is a dangerous situation, get it repaired asap. Your wheel could loose & fall off the axle. If your not an experienced mechanic don't mess with it
