Then keep your baby, just tell the doctor, that you took some stuff that isn't good for you and your just worrying if it affected your baby or not. The best thing to do is when the baby develops a little bit more have it tested to see if it has any defects. Also, now that you know your pregnant, do not do any more of those drugs. Good luck honey.

I had surgery in Dec. They gave me a pregnancy blood test the day before surgery and it was neg. I missed my period and took a test it was positive. I had anesthesia and took pain pills and was pregnant, I didn't know that of course. The Dr. said if I was going to miscarry I would have done it shortly after surgery. I did end up miscarrying last week but they are unsure if it wad b/c of the meds or if it would have happened anyway. I will never know. But like u said u didn't know u were pregnant. My advice would be to tell your Dr. what u took and he could better tell u your chances of carrying a healthy baby to term. After I miscarried everyone told me it was "nature's way" of getting rid of a deformed or really sick baby. It didn't make me feel any better but I know they are right. I didn't say all that to scare you it is just my own experience. And more to urge u to get immediate prenatal care. Good Luck and God Bless

We all do things that we would not have done, if we had known we were pregnant.

Even though I was positive that I was pregnant, I kept testing negative. I was becoming convinced that I was crazy. To drown my sorrows, I had two glasses of wine each night for 3 nights, until I actually got a faint positive. Obviously, had I received my positives earlier, I would not have had anything to drink.

The important thing now is to tell your doctor what you did, and see whether she thinks it will be a problem. More often than not, early exposure to drugs and alcohol does not have a negative effect, provided that you stop as soon as you find out.

I agree that at this early stage there was likely no harm done.

If you are talking about prescription or over-the-counter drugs, then just seek your doctor's advice on not taking them or changing to something safer for the baby.

If we are talking about "street drugs", you might want to seek help. I know that it can be very difficult to quit some things and you don't want to harm your baby, so find someone that can help you like a support group.

I hope you have a friend or family member who is there for you at this time, I know how difficult this can be. Are you married? If not is the father involved and supportive?

I hope things turn out well for you.

chances are very high that your baby is completely fine, especially if it was in the first few weeks. most women do not know they are pregnant until 6 weeks or even later, so they continue to drink, smoke, take meds or drugs, until then.

dont stress out about it. tell your OB if you are worried, and let her ease your fears. i am sure she will tell you the same thing as i did. congrats on the baby, and good luck with your pregnancy! having a baby is really the most amazing thing you can do in life!

It's good that you not gonna take it again..you know drugs, smoking, drinking will make complications for your baby and would be bad for baby's health i think you know all of this that i just said, but i just want you to remind yourself that drugs are not good..i personally never use them...and check the baby regularly with your doctor to see if it is everything OK...and remember if you don't care of yourself doctor can't do anything much...and congratulation on you baby...

Don't be afraid to discuss this with your Doctor and let him/her know what you took and see what he says. It is difficult to say if the baby was harmed, the first trimester is so delicate. Relax and speak to a professional and voice your concerns. Keep the baby, chances are no permanent damage was done.
