Easy clean-up! And aluminum foil is less expensive than buying the metal ones made for this purpose at the store every time they get something on them that won't come off!

Food can spill over and burn on them making them very difficult to clean. It's much easier to just peel off and discard aluminum foil than to try and scrub off the mess.

Simple one. Who wants to clean up the stove all the time. This simply helps out when it is time to clean up all of the over spills. Just saves some time, which it seems like we never have enough of anyway.

So they don't have to clean the base when a pot overflows. They simply change the foil. It is the same principle as plastic couch covers. Ugggghhh.
