Up until last week, my dell laptop picked up the connection from my micradigital router, but it has just stopped. The display at the bottom says i am connected and the strength is excellent but i can't access the internet any more. Any ideas?

every now and then the software in the router needs to be reset. unplug the box leave for a couple of minutes and then try again.
a quicker version of this is right mouse click on the monitor and then click repair link (try this one first)

Check that the router is actually connected to the internet itself.(Using the lights or the web interface)

Try reinstalling the software for the wireless. Check the password to your router and make sure you have the correct info entered. Check the router to make sure the SSID is broadcasting.

Try restarting your router. Look in the router's configuration webpage for an option to restart your router.
Or you could try resetting your router to default settings. Again, look in the configuration webpage.

Reboot your router, maybe even upgrade the firmware. My wireless was flaky until I upgraded the firmware.

check your security setting and if that is not the problem then contact your Internet service provider to verify if your broadband connection is intact

except you've completely sparkling line of sight between both places and use severe benefit directional antenna at each and each end there is not any probability of reaching this decision. regardless of all that you ought to lose signal everytime it rained, or perhaps in severe winds.
