Given the number of planets just in our own galaxy (billions), and the number of galaxies in the universe (billions, each having billions of planets), I'd say the odds favor life -- even intelligent life -- existing on planets other than earth. Saying that other life would be humans like us, though, is an awfully big stretch...we evolved to be what we are through natural selection to best survive the conditions on our own planet, it's highly doubtful that other life's evolutionary path would be identical to ours.

As for humans being taken from earth to other planets as "slaves" -- there's no evidence of any kind to support that. Who "took" them? There's also no evidence that anyone from a planet other than earth has ever been here, so nobody could have been taken. Without any evidence, or even simple odds from statistics to back up that kind of speculation, that's all it is -- pure speculation.

I think you're taking "Stargate SG-1" (one of my favorite shows) a little too literally...:)

Peace.

Nobody can give a definitive "No answer, but the most likely possibility of life will probably more resemble a plankton or an insect, rather than a sentient being of some sort.

This is because insects are the most adaptable species on our planet, which would naturally suit them well on a planet without our long (and rare) type of planetary development and atmosphere.

Hope that helps.

No way! That is just a science fiction fantasy. Even if there is intelligent life on other planets, they don't come to Earth to take slaves or for any other reason. We may not be alone in the universe but we ARE alone on the Earth.

No. Such an assumption begs the question of why a civilization with the resources and technology necessary to mount an interstellar expedition would require slave labor that would be so mind-bogglingly stupid, comparatively speaking, that humans would appear to them like chimpanzees, or maybe rhesus monkeys might appear to us today.

Furthermore, there are enough ways to come up with a working biochemistry that our dietary needs would differ substantially from theirs, requiring that they also bring up or engineer foods humans can consume.

Seriously, unless you could envision a species of pan-galactic zookeepers (and even then, the cost and time committment required for interstellar travel in the universe we live in would tend to prohibit such frivolous uses of starships,) the odds of human beings being elsewhere in the universe today are pretty close to zero.

I thought about that myself at one point. Who knows? There are some pretty interesting verses in the Bible that "might" hint at this possibility:

Deuteronomy 30:4

4Even if any of your dispersed are in the uttermost parts of the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and from there will He bring you.

Nehemiah 1:9 (Amplified Bible)

9But if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though your outcasts were in the farthest part of the heavens [the expanse of outer space], yet will I gather them from there and will bring them to the place in which I have chosen to set My Name.

God seems to drive home the point that even if his Jewish followers were taken into "the farthest part of the heavens" he would gather them and bring them back to Israel. He actually says it twice. Would he mention it if there was no possibility that they could be taken that far away from the promised land? Interesting to consider!

Maybe there are helpless people who have been abducted over the years and taken to other worlds. We really have no way of knowing. But according to these verses God knows and if it happens they can be brought back!
