Why do Americans (most, not all) believe they are the greatest civilisation ever to walk this earth and everyone else is inferior to them?

so many reasons! they feel they invented everything of use in the modern world. they believe in quantity not quality, they believe they have the greatest democrscy in the world when it is anything but. they believe they gave birth to capitalism when it was a scot, they have a burgeoning economy based on consumerism one of the greatest evils of the world.
but i would rather live in a world where the usa was the main superpower. or possibly the brits. and i am irish

I am not inferior nor do I believe I am inferior to anyone, I am an American, I have a strong beleif in my country, and am proud to say I am an American.I am glad I don't live in a land where the women are beaten, the children are starving, and the husbands are young men are dieing over century old wars. Why is it everyone thinks us Americans are evil? We work hard, take care of our children, have numerous races, and ethnicity come over here, we are able to speak freely, chose a job we like, and just want to enjoy our lives and die in peace. If that is inferior to you, then I don't know what to tell you.

I've never met a dem who thinks the world is 6000 years old. On there other hand, there are a lot of black southern baptists, and a lot of them vote dem as more recently, the dems have a better civil rights record. A lot of souther baptists believe in a literal interpretation of the bible.

Because they are!
As many military historians will attest to, never has there been a greater army than the American military.
Although flawed, never has there been a better government system than American democracy.
And, never has there been a country or empire that has done more for the good of mankind, than America.
With exception to a few circumstances, America has been the champion of human rights and freedom more than any other country in the history of the world. How many countries has America liberated at the expense of our own soldier's lives? Countless.
American football is pretty damn good too! Go Cowboys!
Oh, and by the way, it's civilization with a "z" not an "s". ;-)

Another question from someone who has probably never even been to america, spoke with an american, so has no idea what he's talking about.
My family moved to Indianapolis from Manchester just before Christmas, we have been plunged in American culture and society, and I can quite honestly say, from EXPIERENCE, your talking Shite!

I can't find statistics that indicate that most American think that. As an American, I don't feel that everyone is inferior to us. I think your assumptions are a bit ridiculous.

Blimey is it a pick on Americans day? I dont think they believe that at all, you may have a minority that think it but then there are a lot of English people that think they are the dogs too. By the way I am English not American.

That is a very small group here.But you can find people in all countries that feel that way.An you should have pride in the country.I would love to visit the U.K.

They get brainwashed from the day they start school.
Anyway, what does it matter. It's nice that a nation are happy with themselves as long as they don't try changing you.
