I bought a long black dress for a dinner. It's about ankle length, made of cotton and have a soft and sort of taper nicely to my body. It is however too plain. What can I wear to make it stand out more? Thinking of wearing a diamond pendant necklace and a wide belt at the waist. Will it be nice? If so what colour should my belt be and what sort of belt should I wear?

i would suggest u wear a "layered" bead/ stone necklace and carry a fun clutch bag and ballerina flats for ur feet.. or else keep the neckwear simple like a pendant as u ve mentioned (but frankly diamonds and black dresses are a lil too passe) and wear sexy heels, along with a thin string-type belt... chunky belts can be carried off with a lil attitude!!

If the neckline lends itself well, a string of pearls is a classic addition to a black dress. Whatever you decide, don't forget the matching earrings. And as in all fashion decisions, remember less is more. Unless you are tall and have a very slim waistline, you probably don't want to accentuate it with a belt of any sort. A jacket or sweater will better serve in creating vertical lines. However, paired with black hose and heels, a black dress is a sophisticated classic which stands very well on its own.

Diamonds yes, Earrings are most important, they need to match your necklace, and if your hair is short or pulled back they should be more than just studs. f the dress if form fitting you may not need the belt if it is not form fitting and you have a nice figure wear the belt.

High heels, most probably black. Dark hose. (Stay away from white, whatever you do.) The necklace sounds fine, but a thin platinum one is even better (as it doesn't attract as much eyesight). Your earings and hair will make the outfit. Clearly, by your name... you want to hear about wide belt virtues? But, unless you're planning on carrying tools... I'd leave it home.

nicely you may in no way flow incorrect with a Black gown that is for particular. With this variety of good, dark coloration you may particularly think of of it as a clean canvas. i might propose wearing Gold upload-ons that could look large which includes your Black gown. although from the photograph, there is way too lots fabric. perhaps have it hemmed on the backside so which you will no longer holiday or have your skirt sweep the floor particularly. in case you think of Gold is basically too flashy, you may try Turquoise or purple upload-ons that could flow basically besides. end off with strappy sandals & a take carry of. For hair a graceful ponytail or a bun looks good. makeup perhaps a independent look with particularly formidable purple lips.
