I'm a little confused about the whole "egg white cervical mucus", "14 day ovulation" thing. I didn't have any EWCM, so does that mean I didn't ovulate this cycle? I've been watching my CM and trying to conceive. I've passed the 14 dpo point, on 20 dpo now, no signs of ovulation. Any thoughts?

dpo is days past ovulation, so if you don't know if you ovulated or not then you can't know if you are 20 dpo, I'm going to assumme you meant 20 days after your period. If your cycles are long then you may not have ovulated yet. You ovulate 12-16 days before your period so if your cycle is say 34 days and you ovulate 12 days before you wouldn't ovulate for another 2 days. You may also have ovulated without the ewcm, you can take guaifessen to help that and buy lubricant called preseed (they have it on drugstore.com if you can't find it anywhere) which will allow sperm to swim through it without killing them. If you are not sure if you are ovulating you should start charting your basal body temp. Your temp goes up after you have ovulated, if your temp doesn't go up during the month then you might not be ovulating and should see your dr about it. You can find a chart to track your bbt on www.mymonthlycycles.com, just look for the printable version. All you have to do is take your temp at the same time every morning when you wake up before you do anything (less of a pain than it sounds) and circle the temp on the chart.

Sometimes you don't have ewcm, you just have the wet lubricative one, although an absence of mucus might mean you just had an anovulatory cycle or the mucus might come later and your cycle will be long this time. If you are under a lot of stress, exercising or have traveled recently or changed your eating habits a late ovulation might result.
Not everyone ovulates on day fourteen...it depends on many things so don't worry just yet.
I suggest you take a look at the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility, it has been the best thing for me, it explains everything (from basal temperature to mucus and cervix position) and how you should chart them when ttc. If you don't want the book they also have a website: www.tcoyf.com and they explain those things as well.
