I have a quick hypothetical question please.

First you'll have to imagine this device exists. Imagine it could produce a powerful beam of high pitch sound. Imagine it has a range of 100 yards. It is perceived as intollerable if aimed at an average person, prompting them to immediately move away.

Now imagine someone aims this device from a private dwelling into a public area, like the road, sidewalk, bus stop, or public park. Imagine it is aimed at pedestrians, motorists, and general members of the public for nothing more that humour. Also, it is often used in acts of racism, and descrimination. Imagine this was not an isolated practice and became common.

I know its hypothetical, but can I please ask if there are any laws to protect someone in a public area from situation like this?

Thanks Silenz, and end up like an average homeless person with earmuffs.

It's not hypothetical. The Defense department has already developed this. It was on the Discovery channel about a year ago.
