Remember those days growing up making friends without a care in the world? We would make a friend almost each day, and some of them are still our best friends to this day? Why as adults we don't have that easiness to met new people?

Because of a job opportunity I moved into a new town where I don't know anyone.
After realising I spend my days at the computer and phone talking to my old friends, I decided I got to go out and meet new friends.
I don't believe bars or discos are good options, but as this is the first time I find myself in this situation, what should one do?

More friends are not true friends at all!

As an I adult, I must agree that times are certainly different. Kid's today do appear to be more open, but they do have a lot of places to meet more people. School is probably THE biggest pool of opportunities, they have all sorts of after school clubs, sports and group related hobbies. They are not as inhibited as some of us more "mature" adults. I am not being offensive, just a polite way of not dating my age. Make sure you are friendly at work, bring in some baked goods or candy for everyone to share, maybe compliment someone on an outfit or say something flattering about a picture someone might have displayed at their desk. See if their are any activities that your company participates in. With some time you will be fine. Good Luck!

Be patient, the fact that you haven't meet any friends yet is not because you are an adult but because you are a newcomer.
Remember, the important thing here is " don't look for friends"
this put you in a bad position, let the friends come to you. If you have a nice personality, you will make friends regarding of your age.

Make yourself approachable don't be standoffish. Smile and say hello to your co-workers so they will see that you are a nice person and someone that they can talk to or hang out with.

Communication is the key you need. Besides the phone or the computer. Making friends can be easy if you are friend material. Don't brag about things you have. Talk less about you and listen more.

Good Luck and I hope you find you new friends

I think you are right, night clubs and discos are not the ideal places to meet someone. I think you should ask some friendly co-workers that you feel comfortable talking to about some ideal places and go from there, who knows they might share your interest as well. In time, you participating in activities that you enjoy, whether it be golfing, working out at a gym, running in the park, tennis, church, or other community activities you will eventually find a group or someone who you click with, give it time.

it is not ur problem. U thougt it as a problem. but man is a social animal. U have to socialise, u have to give some time for ur self to socialise. U r a selfish . u have to tolerate every one. u must take every moment as an opertunity to comunicate . u have to sacrifese ur self to be in a society

O.K., this will be hard... but you can do it...

Reach up, grab the back of you laptop, now... close the screen!

Get outside, meet a human.
Try a hobby or read a book in a coffee shop (works on tv).
