Why is it we have to be careful what we say nowadays in case it comes across as racist!?
I am from far racist, but I think it's a sorry world when we have to be careful what we say...... just incase!
Take comedians for example, they make fun of the irish, scottish and english.. but never pakistani's as there would be an uproar! ridiculous!!!!
Ive heard kids can't even say 'Black' board now.. it has to be 'chalk' board - what next??? 'black chistmas?'
anyone else agree with me ?

I think people have to be careful what they say now a days because people are crazy in today's society. You might not mean anything by what you say, but the next person may take it the wrong way and want to take your life over it. I think there is a time and place to say things. Some things are better left unsaid.

Well, the White people influenced their way of life to the world for long, now let the Black people do that too. If we chose you not to say "Black board", well the correct term is "Chalk board". So use it.
We didn't created the Tarzan era, the White men did. Fooling the people to think that Africa is all jungle and the White man can adopt every environment and colonize it.

My brother was 12yo when a game he played at school went wrong.
The word used "blackboard" he heard "blackboy". Not fun and quite heartbreaking for him that day - and an absolute misunderstanding. He's cool now - but we all have responsibilities about what comes out of our mouths, because interpretation belongs to who hears it.

I totally agree!!!
I heard there is a war on renaming the day Christmas, X-mas and I don't understand why the H word (Heck in other words) is forbidden in public places but perfectlly legal in christian grounds (like churches), and the others who want to change everything about USA so much they started up riots and rallies to make their point.
Then again...things like this only happen in the U.S...
I wonder why??

I do,and I know why i agree with you too!it's because now that people understand humanism, there is no way that other people can get away with criticising them,it's just not possible, even if it's a joke. You probably feel that way because of a certain incident in which you were caught saying something like that. It's natural, just learn to cope with it.

Shouldn't we respect those around us and their beliefs?
I personally try to adapt (within reason) as not to offend those around me, and I find it a lazy or rude attitude when I hear someone say that they should be accepted the way they are and other people around them should adapt and understand their behaviour whatever it is.
After all the purpose of my life is not to infringe on that of others, and I do not expect others will infringe on my own life.
