I have the Oster Bread Machine. In the middle of baking bread, I think it was in the rising stage, the machine just beeped a few times and shut off.

Is it dead?? What happened to it??

I tried the website and it said to hold down the start/stop button while plugging and unplugging the machine, but that didn't work. Has this happened before to anyone, and what did you do?? THe machine is a few years old, but there's never been any problems.

If it doens't work after the reset you did, it is likely done. But give their toll free number a call. Maybe there's something you're missing in the steps. Oster® Breadmakers: (800) 438-0935
Or they may be able to refer a local repair.

Dead. I would replace it. Since it beeped, it may likely be the circuit board, and between shipping and repairs, it would probably be better to get a new one.
