I am extremely short and all my life, have add difficutly getting work because of the state 'height requirement'. Is this law still in effect?

There is no such law, and if there ever was it was abolished decades ago.

I doubt that very much, I agree with the above poster - that would be discrimination. It may depend on the sort of work you're looking for (a few jobs might require a certain stature etc) but I'm sure this isn't true.

Isn't that illegal...?It's discrimination so I'd think it would be.
