Well, we censor our people, we have armed guards on all corners, we have a dedicated propaganda section of our government, our people have no voice in government and are continually oppressed and controlled by our government. We are subject to unlawful search and seizure at any time and suffer unjust abuse at the hands of our out of control police force. Martial law is imposed on our people and individual rights have been abandoned.

No, Wait... None of that is true. Seems that we're not fascist at all! You must have us confused with North Korea or Poland of the 1970's.

Lawrence Britt came up with 14 symptoms that you have a fascist state

# Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism. This was usually coupled with a suspicion of things foreign.

Just Look at the Immigration hysteria, and the anti-Muslim hysteria

# Disdain for human rights. Victims of human rights abuse were marginalized or abuse was concealed.

Can we say torture, waterboarding, extensive rendition, gitmo secrecy

# Identification of scapegoats as a unifying cause. Scapegoating directed attention away from public problems and channeled frustration into controlled directions.

Hello? Islamofacists and Mexicans? no scapegoating there.

# Avid militarism. The military was used to assert national goals, intimidate other countries, and increase the ruling elite's prestige.

Driving the ship of State onto Iraq, and Iran, and Syria, ?

# Rampant sexism. Women were treated as second-class citizens. Homophobia was intensified.

Oh yeah all the Gay bashing, and new abortion laws

# A controlled mass media. Leaders of the mass media were often compatible with the regime and kept the public unaware of the regime's excesses.

That would be where all the media is either Faux Snooze or Fox Lite

# Obsession with national security. A national security apparatus served as an instrument of internal repression.

What can be said, not much, most "security" does little about threat but alot about repression (like old ladies are going to blow them selves up with a set of nail clippers?)

# Religion and ruling elite tied together. Propaganda kept up the illusion that those in power were opponents of the "godless."

Not much to say here either, pretty self evident

# Power of corporations protected. The ability of large corporations to act in relative freedom was not compromised even when personal liberties were curtailed.

The list here is immense and well known as well

# Power of labor suppressed or eliminated. The poor were seen as an underclass and viewed with suspicion or contempt.

Katrina? Mal Wart? much more is hidden.

# Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts. Artistic and academic freedom were considered subversive.

All those "liberal" universities, like anti-intellectualism needs to have an equal vioce and representation there as well.

# Obsession with crime and punishment. Severe systems of criminal justice produced huge prison populations. Police power was almost unchecked, leading to widespread abuse.

The US has passed every country in the world as having the greatest percentage of it's population in prison, police abuse is on the rise, even in non-threatening situations. Taser deaths are also rising as they are used more and more as first resort.

# Rampant cronyism and corruption. The economic elite and the power elite enriched one another through unethical favoritism.

How many "heck of a job" cronies are there? I have a list but it would exceed Yahoo's space available.

# Fraudulent elections. When elections with candidates took place, they would usually be perverted by those in power to achieve the desired result.

Hello, there has not been an honest election this century, that Democrats won this time was only that revulsion exceeded all expectations.

Well the fascist economic model was based on government control over private industry...so the latest efforts by the government to set salary limits on CEO's and other executives of companies is a very apt example of a fascist mentality creeping into our government.

Well for a long time it was taboo to criticize Bush/ "our leader". People exhibited large amounts of blind faith, accepting removal of some civil rights out of fear.

I looked at the above link, it has all your answers - very good.

warrantless wiretapping of US citizens. Allowing random searches in NYC subways. Requiring a nationwide ID system. The belief that "the nation" is the highest priority above all else. It advocates a sort of authoritarianism where the leader knows best and if you question him you are unpatriotic.
