I think your child making him a thank you note sounds perfect! It is a very sweet gesture and also appropriate. A gift certificate in the thank you card would also be nice but not necessary.

I think how ever you handle your thank you it would be best to include the wife and kids (as a whole). Maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant. But make it a family thank-you so that no one gets the wrong idea. Because believe me people will. Also a simple verbal "thank you I appreciate what you did" is a nice simple way to say thank you too.

no gifts or gestures required...
just say thankyou for you taking my daughter skiing I really appreciate it and so does she..
if it goes more than that his wife might think you are putting the moves on him and then if you need to have your daughter taken any where else again he won't be there to help you both put...
so nothing but a thankyou

Why is Valentines Day coming up an issue? You need to remember that this is a married man. I think a hand made thank you card from your daughter is more than appropriate.

You write a nice thank you card to both him and his wife and give it with a box of chocolates for them and their family. That says you appreciate them for what he did for YOUR DAUGHTER. Remember, this is not about you. It also says Happy Valentine's Day to all of them since it is soon. It's not easy to find good caring people. You're blessed and so is that little girl! Make sure she knows it!

A thank you note from you with a short note and a small gift card ($10) would be appropriate. It is not necessary to write a long note, just something to the effect of: "Have a cup on coffee on me. Thanks for your help with skiiing night."

I think the thank you card from your daughter is perfect! If you feel like his gesture deserves more, bake some cookies or something and take them to he and his wife.

As a married man, I would appreciate just a simple thank you. I think that this gentleman's thanks came from knowing your daughter had a good time skiing. Let her write him the thank you note.

Well as most women have done to me when I have helped them out and I tell them that it's no charge. They bake me a cake or a pie. One of them even make me a whole Brisket. SO bake or cook something for him. Cake, cookies. It wn't matter because knowing a man's stomach he will love it.
