Im making a mother of the bride corsage/buttonhole and need to know what type and size of ribbon to use with it? and also how to put the ribbon on best? thanks.

You can use any ribbon to acheive the look you want. A nice sheer ribbon would look nice for mother of the bride. Choose your ribbon width in relation to the size of the corsage. 1/2 inch satin ribbon would be good for a buttoneer, you might want to go with a wider ribbon, maybe 3/4 - 1 inch for the corsage. I put the ribbon on with wire and a touch of glue. The wire holds it secure while the glue is drying and the glue keeps the wire from twisting.

I like to use chiffon ribbon on wedding corsages, it inexpensive and is soft and romantic looking. I usually use like 9/16 ribbon or 1/2 ribbon depending on the size of flowers and corsage. I always hot glue the ribbon in, no one can tell and it is so much more secure and easier to deal with.

Remember after you wire on the bow, re-wrap the stem so the wires don't poke.
