Since most imitation crab are cooked and made of whitefish, which is relatively low in pollutants such as mercury, it is safe to eat during your first trimester and throughout pregnancy. Of course as with everything else, moderation is always a good bet especially during pregnancy because no seafood is completely free of pollutants.
The only seafoods you want to avoid during pregnancy are any raw fish or shellfish, as well as the bigger, more predatory fish that accumulate the highest levels of pollutants such as mercury (shark, swordfish, kind mackerel, tilefish, tuna). The FDA has issued guidelines on the safety of eating tuna during pregnancy: it is safer to have the canned "light" tuna which is from smaller fish, but avoid tuna steaks and canned albacore (limit albacore tuna to 6oz per week).
Remember it is good to have fish in your diet during pregnancy because of benefits from omega-e fatty acids, which are good for the baby's developing brain (an example is DHAs which are also additives in many baby formulas for that reason). Just be aware of the type of fish, its source (wild-caught versus farmed-fish), and the amount you are ingesting. Wild-caught fish tend to be better than farmed since many fish farms may be overcrowded (more pollutants) and put artificial color (like in salmon) and other artificial additives such as antibiotics to the feed. Wholefoods grocery store does select responsible fish farms to supply their salmons, so it is a good place to get farmed salmon there if you don't want to get the pricier wild-caught ones.
So if you like those california sushi rolls that are made of all cooked ingredients (avocado and imitation crab), they should be safe to eat in theory. I personally love sushi and limited myself to only these sushi rolls. But during the first trimester, I would still avoid eating them because the surface on which the sushi chefs prepare them are often the same surface they cut other raw fish, and can be contaminated with other potentially problematic microbes. Of course you may make these california rolls yourself at home if you'd like. Have a safe and wonderful pregnancy.

I say it would be fine to eat it, yet some women do develop certain allergies to foods and etc during pregnancy but if you have not had any symtoms or side effects from it then it should be fine. I think it is safe to be more aware of foods with a lot of salt, and bad fats, and sodas, and etc....... So girl enjoy ya pregnancy to the fullest and as long as the baby doesn't give you the old boot (the throwing up) then enjoy and eat healthy!!
Congrates to you also!!!
p.s. you can always consult your physician to be on the safe side also

Absolutely Yes! As long as it is a normal craving and not a breakfast, lunch and dinner type. Immitation crab is nothing else but synthesized protein and some colorings it is a natural food. You should be concearned if the craving is for non food items like: toilet paper, kitty litter, tooth paste, dishwasher detergent etc. DO NOT LAUGH because it is VERY common! there is a very good article here:
