If you've found a way to stop hitting snooze a half dozen times, help a girl out! (I know I know, I should just stop being such a lazy a** but it's not olike that - when it's vital I get up, but on days when I can come up with excuses, i do!)

heres an alarm clock that rolls off your desk and hides when it goes off...by the time you find it and shut it off you should be wide awake ;)

I did when I heard this (yes - i listen to the John Tesh Radio Show :) Its sooo informative!)

"lose the snooze! Dr. James Maas, a psychology professor at Cornell University, says that hitting your snooze button over and over is actually bad for you! Why? Because waking up and going back to sleep several times fragments your sleep pattern, causing your body to be confused over whether or not it’s really time to wake up. This leaves you feeling groggy and tired when you actually do get moving. So what’s the cure for a snooze button junkie? Go to bed 15 minutes earlier. "

And its true.... it worked for me!
I got an alarm clock that didnt have a snooze and placed it on the other side of the room. It was more of a mental challenge than anything.... lose my job or get up NOW! But I actually do feel more rested than i used to feel when i hit the snooze button.

I'm sorry, I can't help you. I'm 46 years old and still have to hit the snooze at least a half a dozen times. In addition to that I get up at 6:15 every morning but can't stand it so I changed my clock so it says 8:30 when I get up. I set my alarm for 7:30 (really 5:15 am) but I know I'd never be able to handle being awakened at 5:15 so if my clock says 7:30 I'm OK with it then I hit the snooze until it says 8:30 (really 6:15 am) and then I can get up. I know it's weird but it is only head tricks I play with myself and it works for me.

I hit the snooze for about an hour before I get up, so I know what you're talking about, Maybe keep a glass of water next to your bed and when the alarm goes off rub your eyes with it.??

Good Luck.

One of the harder things to teach yourself to do. You have a few options.

1. Buy the alarm clock I put under source. The alarm goes off and shoots 4 puzzle pieces in the air....then WILL NOT turn off until you put them back so their is no snooze button, by the time you get them back in you'll be awake.

2. Set two alarms. Set your Alarm clock a healthy distance out of arms reach enough so that you have to get up. Then for 1 minute later set your cell phone to its loudest alarm. These two tasks of getting up should for the most part keep you awake enough to take a shower and if your still tired by then you should be going to sleep earlier.

I am one who is very prone to hitting the snooze button for an hour or so. However, these days I have a rather large, totally spoiled rotten German shepherd/rottweiler mix with a tongue as wide as a large paintbrush that really enjoys her morning walks. She generally sees to it that I don't hit the snooze more than a couple of times.

Yea, just don't hit it, it takes will power. I love to hit the snooze button as well when I have the time to do so (which isn't a problem) but if you don't have the time, then you need to prioritize and realize it's more important to get up than to stay laying in bed =]

The only way I know to stop the snooze button half a dozen times is to throw it at the wall the fifth time. It should stop buzzing.

Yes, I bought an alarm without a snooze button. When you don't have the feature, you'd be surprised how you can wake up on the first alarm (o.k., you may mess up once, but it's a pretty fast lesson not to do it again).

quit coming up with excuses act like it is vital everyday to get up.
We had to put it away from the bed so we had to actually get out of bed to shut it off other wise the arms went swinging straight for that snooze. GL

I set mine across the room so I have to get up. Supposedly there is a company that's come up with two good ones. One fall apart into about six pieces. You have to put the pieces back together to make the alarm stop. The other one starts rolling all over the room and you have to catch it!
