I have ordered live plants from a company called Ottawa Aquatics. I ordered them 2 weeks ago, and have not received them yet. I was just wondering if anyone else here have ordered live plants from this company and what their experience with them was like? Also, I was wondering if you could give me some names of companies online that ship live plants in or to Canada? The local pet store doesn't have much selection here that is why I'm ordering online. Thank you in advance.

Where do you live, HK? Do you live in Ottawa? I live there also and I know many hobbiests who would be happy to share some plants, which are cheaper and healthier than anything you can find in a petstore.

Most places that ship aquatic plants will ship to Canada and the U.S., including liveaquaria and many dealers on e-bay, but I've never personally shipped plants before so I cannot give you any specific recommendations; the best advice I can give is to locate your local aquarists club and buy some plants from fellow hobbiests.

Also, 2 weeks is way too long for shipping time. If they shipped them a week ago or more, those plants would be dead by now. Call them and ask for a refund.

I just read on thier website that when they say a plant is "available" it does not necessarily mean it's in their current inventory, but rather that they expect it to arrive within 2 weeks (to ensure fresh plants bla bla bla), so that may be the reason. Either way, call them. If you wish to e-mail me, do so, I plan on going to check that store out tonight because it's a few minutes from my house (never heard of it before... weird??) and I'll let you know if it looks legit ;)

Check back with the company. they may have a delay due to weather conditions (it is canada you know) still,no excuse for not calling you if this is the case. You can check out a company called Belyjo they ship to many pet shops with excellent plants and may be able to tell you a shop locally they ship to. you can also ask the local shop to bring in a plant you want, they may not know what to bring in but if someone wants it they can get it

The plants you ordered may be out of stock and backordered, but the company should let you know this! Here's a site I've done mail order business with & have always been happy with the merchandise & service: http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/product/categoryInfo.web?options.passInCategoryKey=23204

you may shop it interior the basket in case you have sufficient gravel to layer over it and bury the pot, yet lots of the hampers are too intense for that. I used to continually shop it interior the basket, yet then my Kuhli Loach swam and cracked his neck in it. i counsel you're taking the plant out of the basket by using fact backside feeders might slice themselves on it. besides the undeniable fact that, it is likewise a stable thought to take out the stuff the plant's roots are in. try this delicately be conserving the roots and keeping apart the stuff including your palms, bit by potential of bit. make useful there is not extra linked, in any different case fish will eat it and which will provide them indigestion or block their gills and different organs. Then, connect a weight of a few sort so the plant's bare roots can advance everywhere they might desire to, however the plant isn't uprooted. i'm hoping that facilitates! it continually worked for me! :]
