I am happily married( so please don't say abstinence), my daughter is 5 months old and currently I am one the pill but I think that it is having different side effects since I have no been pregnant so I want to switch but I don't know what to switch to. What are you opinions or advice? I am not sure if or when I am going to have another child but I am leaning towards the fact that I will so I want something that can be removed/stopped at anytime. I do not want to get the depo shot because my mom was on that and had horrible side affects so that isn't an option. Thanks in advance.

I have the Mirena IUD and love it. I have 5 kids and do not want anymore. I have had it for 7 months and haven't had a real period since getting it put in. There was no pain getting it put it. (some woman have cramping) It is good for up to 5 years but you can have it removed anytime you are ready to have another baby. I strongly recommend it.

There are so many different kinds of birth control pills that you might just want to ask your nurse/doctor to recommend something similar, but different. Just because you are experiencing side effects with this one doesn't mean you will experience the very same side effects with them all. That is, unless mood swings are a big factor. Then, I'm not so sure. You can check out more about different women's opinions at this site:

Just click on "Rate your medicine" - - then click on "view RX report by category"; scroll down and click on "Contraseptives". You'll find a whole list with ratings on women's opinions. However, also note how many have rated the particular one you are looking at. One might have a 4.0 rating, but only have had 1 person to rate it.
