I dig it. It will fit when she is old so, way to be proactive on that. Also, Lily will work out if she winds up being a hot chick. Finally, while she is young it will just be darn cute. You got my vote.

I think Lillian does sound stuffy and old lady-like...so I wouldn't use that as a 1st name at all. Lily is beautiful on it's own. Lily is still honoring your g-ma, just in a modern way. As for Virginia, it makes me cringe a bit, cause I know this will be an embarassing middle name she probably will be hesitant in telling people. It just sounds too much like the v-word. We have a family friend named Virginia Lynn, and she always used Lynn because Virginia mortifies her :( However, you have a very good reason for wanting to use these names, and Lillian Virginia does flow pretty well together as a name. If it were me, I wouldn't use it b/c Lillian sounds doubley stuffy with Virginia. You need something a little lighter.

too cute? are you saying that as a good thing or a bad thing? i like lily. sounds nice. Lillian Virginia is okay, especially since it has family history and all. Lillian doesn't sound like an old woman to me, sounds like someone that is respectable. I like the whole get-up. I especially like how you are using ancestors names for your kids. I have actually been considering the same thing (for when i get around to having kids, of course).

I think that is a really nice way to honour both grandmothers. I think Lily is cute for a baby, child and teen but as she gets older she could use Lillian which sounds classy and timeless

I'd get rid of "Lillian" and make "Lily" her official name. After all, "Lillian Virginia" is quite a mouthful, especially when you add on a last name.

I think it is wonderful. My mother in law was named Lillian and my niece grabbed the name with the first girl born in the family. They call her Lily - I love it

Well I like it. It has a family bond connected too it. Just remember that this child will have this name forever. If you don't like it you have to live with it. Lillian means Lily which is a very pretty flower and Virginia is latin meaning pure. Sounds good to me!

You shouldn't care what other people think of it. It is what you and your husband like. But, since you asked I think it is a good strong name. I LOVE Lily. I think it is beautiful. It sure beats some of these names people are coming up with that you can't even begin to pronounce or spell. lol I think Lily will be very proud of her name once her Grandmothers are gone. At least I would be! Just do what YOU like.
