ACTUALLY SOUTH WEST MONSOON SEASON IS DURING JUNE-SEP.
As t.nadu lies in the rainshadow region of the monsoon winds, there is no rainfall here. But when the North east monsoon wind blows t.nadu lies on the windward side of the monsoon winds.
hence t.nadu gets rainfall during winter.

Tamil Nadu gets rain in winter beacuse of the retreating north west trade winds. As the north west trade winds move south, they pass over the Bay of Bengal and collect moisture on the way. When they reach Tamil Nady, this moisture gets converted into rains.
