Sometimes it's he feels like he is overwhelled or he is cheating. Because a man should never stop viewing his family as his top priorities. The only time is when he is cheating, or when he doesn't know what to do, he might be thinking of leaving. But just maybe if you ask him why he might tell you. But to me it would be cheating. So chat with him and find out what's going on with him, before it too late. Want to chat more IM me or e-mail me anytime.

Men think they do a lot more than they actually do.

They think their wives do a lot less than they actually do.

I think the only cures for this syndrome are:
1. Switch places (not a viable option for many couples).
2. Wife stops doing a number of things- laundry, dishes, etc- when he whines about clean underwear, say "Oh well, you say I don't do anything so today I didn't."

Selfishness and wanting his own way instead of working on his marriage and family to give and make things better he becomes self centered and only thinks of himself.... Recipe for disaster and women do this as well... When we get our priorities out of whack this is what happens! Sometimes they decide to put work and money over their marriage or women put the children and her friends over hers... We need to be selfless and giving and to selfish and just take take taking! Great question by the way... This one makes me think:) I love the questions that make me think. Thank you!

Everyone has given good reasons...but I have a different take.
Many men AND women feel like they settled and could do better. They begin resenting their responsibilities and believing that they settled for a life that is beneath them. I'm sure this is rarely true though.
If this is happening in your life, I suggest getting marriage counseling ASAP. The marriage is in deep trouble.

I have one or two ideas:

1. He doesn't feel appreciated for what he has done. He feels taken for granted.

2. He doesn't feel his wife or kids have HIM as their top priorities.

It's a two-way street.

You may think he is your top priority, but if we asked him, what would he say?

because she lets him get away with it

every married mom needs to leave the kids with hubby for a day and go do her own thing.... a couple times a month at LEAST! too many men come & go as they please expecting mom will take care of herself & the kids, and too many moms let them do it!

Fear of death. Mid life crisis. Same thing. It is all about not wanting to really be an adult.

Without any details, it is difficult to say for sure. It could be something as simple as stress, or it could be something as bad as him having an affair. We really need more details to be able to help you at all!
