I find this question to be very interesting. He is cheating on his wife yet worried about easing her pain? First of all, he should stop cheating and stop lying. It is only postponing the outcome. She can sense that he isn't the same. Women aren't stupid. If he cares about his wife at all he will stop seeing the other woman and spend more time with his wife trying to heal the relationship. If he isn't in love with his wife anymore then he needs to file for divorce and let her go on with her life. If he wants the marriage to work, he will be willing to do anything to save it.....like marriage counseling.

Personally, I am married and I do not think I would continue lying about it. Afterall, dipping one's dipstick into a different oil tank is not worth the hurt to another. If the husband continues to lie then she needs to divorce him. He is not being a husband he is being a whore! If you truly loved your wife you would not cheat on her. And I believe those that "swing" were already a few cans short of a six pack upstairs!
The husband needs to come clean on what he is doing because if he does not, the problem is only going to get worse. This damns the wife into a personal HELL that she shouldn't have to suffer. I could not handle the guilt myself it would kill me! Confession needs to happen first before any steps towards healing are made. If the wife chooses to keep him and forgive him it is her choice. If not, well, sorry about your luck there dude! Hope this helps.

If I was cheating on my wife and she suspected me of cheating, I wouldn't make any drastic changes in anything I was doing. Like coming home at 5pm every single day, or suddenly having all this free time to spend with the family because I broke things off with the other woman. That would be obvious! What I would probably do is try to assure my wife that everything was fine, that work is just nuts, that I love her very much, that I will try to make more time for us real soon, and then continue doing what I was doing with the other woman! Only being a LOT more careful and mindful of what I was doing and when. If you want PROOF that he's cheating then: check his phone bill. check his emails if you have access. check credit card statements. or call him when you suspect him of being with the other woman. let him know that he's on notice and that every little move he makes is now in question. One last observatoin: I have never known ANY man who cheats when he's getting sex 3-4 times a week from a wife that trusts him, doesn't hassle him, and beleives in him.

You have missed the point.
IF I were in an ongoing affair, why do you think I would worry about what you would feel.
I would deny and roll on.
That being said, that is a reason why I do not cheat. I do not have the conscience to do that .
So now we come back to your suspicion, or do you have proof.
I saw a quote the other day about possessiveness being more about fear than love.

If my husband was cheating on me I would want him to tell he the truth so I could make an educated decision or rather to stay or to leave. That would be the Only way for Him to ease my pain, the rest would be up to me.

once is a cheating issue there is nothing about easing the pain,
my advice is,there is no more love for the wife, so is not fair for her or you so come out clean,
is seems that there is no more respect and trust so let her know the true.

Any action will cause some emotional pain. You need to MAN up, come clean with your wife, break it off with the person you are cheating with and get some counseling on your marriage.

the fact is...she IS going crazy and you are making it worse....for you and her. your wife knows something is wrong as well as you do. wives know. she is being cheated in more ways than one. cheated , because when a man looks at her, makes love to her, touches her.......she should be content in the knowledge that she IS the only one in your life.come clean about all this..it will hurt, but not as much as what you are doing now.....make this woman free to find someone who will be who she needs.
