People who hate African-Americans, Jews, women or overweight people, isn't it all discrimation, be it racial, religious or etc? If not, why do you say so? Is discriminatory speech often confused with freedom of speech? Why and why not?

This question is not meant to be offensive, discriminatory, or going against one's personal preferences. I just need your opinions. Thank you.

What is your opinion?

I would say that anyone who hates another person is prejudiced against them, especially for trivial reasons like being overweight, etc etc. It is when they do something against that person because of the prejudice, that it becomes discrimination.
I do not accept that that discriminatory speech is freedom of speech. No speech which is aimed at a group of people simply because of their background, religion etc is free. In my opinion. It is simply voicing their prejudice.

Right on! The only people to get offended are the ones offending others, they're just illiterate. Freedom of speech is confused with the other all the time. But I can say the ones screaming freedom of speech are the ones discriminating. I'ts sad but everyone really does either on a conscience or sub-conscience level. It's all about the person and how they live life, you know rude or nice people. Simple.

Yes, it is all considered discrimination. I think almost anyone can feel discriminated against. I know that I am treated differently when my tatoos show. I have several up both arms and on my leg. When I wear something where they show, people react differently to me. I see the looks other women give my wife because she is tall and thin.....we are a discriminatory society and I think a lot of people don;'t even realize they are doing it.

Freedom of speech is sometimes used in a bad way, by some people who thinks that they have the right to critize and reject some cultural differences (between black, latinos, asians, muslims, jews, catholics and white protestants).
