I don't personally own either, but my 10 & 12 years old boys do. They have had the DS since it came out a few years ago and just got the PSP for Christmas this year. They still prefer the DS, as do most of their friends. It is more fun to play they say, with the dual screens, but they like having both because they can buy most games now. So I guess it depends what you are looking for a game system or a multi media unit? The PSP does have the mp3, picture display, internet & plays movies as well. If you just want a game system then the DS is what you want.

I have both. I like the PSP for the wide range of games. I like the DS for the "cute" games and the touch-screen. Neither one is better- they're just different.
