how do i put my entire itunes library into my ipod when i drag the song to put them into my ipod?

i drag them to the ipod icon but a circle with a dash comes up and won't let me put them in

You maybe putting too much at a time and the ipod might not have enough free space to hold all the songs you are trying to put on.
