I own both. I bought both the DS and the PSP at the same time in the summer of 2005, so I've had them exactly the same length of time. Let me tell you - the DS is hands-down the better device. I have many more games for the DS, and play it much more often - several times a week, in fact. I rarely get out the PSP, and I only own a few games for it.
The PSP is a beautiful machine, don't get me wrong. It's gorgeous, and the screen is brilliant and detailed. It's just that it doesn't offer much that's fun. Also, I don't use any of the media capabilities - I have an iPod for music, and on planes every seat has a movie screen, so I don't need it for videos.
So - for me, as a game player, the DS is by far the better machine.

It really depends on what kind of games you like. If u like Mario games get the DS. If u like action/adventure/shooting games get the PSP. I had the DS and got bored with it so i sold it and got a PSP and i like the PSP a lot more. The pictochat on the DS is cool but i like ho wthe PSP is a movie/music/and picture player. Plus you can go on the internet. And the PSP graphics kill the DS. So whatever you like should decide your decision.

I personally like DS better just because it has a greater variety of games and the games are just more fun. However, if you're into games that have good graphics, then you might like PSP better. If you wanna check out the games, go to the link that I attached.

if u like a versital on the go device than psp is better. but ds has better games(in my opinion) like mario kart and super mario bros. So overall i like the ds and leave the music and videos to the ipod!!!!!!!!!
