just press the key with num lock on it that will enable the numbers on the lettered keyboard but will disable the rest of the keys. you could also by a USB num pad there not that expensive now.

EDIT: i am using a Macbook Pro so mines probally different but there should still be a numlock button ( the Fn works on my laptop aswell tho)

The numbers are probably in blue. Note that in the lower left hand corner is a key with Fn in blue, also. When you press this key, you can access the blue features of the keyboard.

not sure of your layout, but either numbers lock or the FN key plus the number.

Hold Fn then hit the key. It will use whatever is it blue or whatever color besides the main one.
