There are several free antivirus programs. The 3 most popular are Antivir, Avast and AVG. Each is free for personal and non commercial use. You can find all these programs at http://www.filehippo.com/software/antivirus/ The website also shows other free antivirus programs should you be interested.
Each of the 3 programs have their pros and cons. Antivir has the best detection rate of the 3 but it does not scan incoming e-mails - it does scan outgoing mail. AVG is easy to use and scans all e-mail messages; however, it has the lowest detection rate of the 3. Avast is easy to use and scans all e-mail messages. In addition, Avast offers protection for IM and wireless networking, which neither of the other 2 provide. However, you have to register every 3 months to continue using it, which is a royal pain.

I know a little trick :
1 . choose any antivirus from any site : "Make sure that it's
version is late by 3 months at least"
2 . Go to the site : http://www.astalavista.ms/ and get it's crack
or serial.
3 . setup the crack then update your now full programe
****This is not legal so if you like the programe then buy it but many ppl do this***

The AVG free is on there and it updates daily and never runs out. So is Spybot and other free stuff.

AVG Free edition for windows... Never runs out and it's a very good virus program.
