I have 3 kids. My middle child, a girl, had pain in her legs and her doctor said growing pains. You are right to get it checked out, just in case, but if dr. says growing pains then that's probably what it is. At least you'll know and will feel better about it.

Even when I stopped growing the Dr.'s still said My leg pains were growing pains and they were not. In other words the Dr.'s don't know. I've had Leg Pains all my Life. It wasn't until I was 24 that I was diagnosed with Velo-Cardio-Facial Syndrome that caused the Leg pains. There really is no treatment for it but it was finally nice to have an answer. Its a Genetic Disorder. It might be helpful to go to see a Genetic Doctor about Velo-Cardio-Facial Syndrome if your still worried and the both leg's are still bothering her.
What helped me especially growing up is my mom rubbing my leg's with Aspercream or Emu Oil. Even a Rice Bag Helped relax the pain or if there is a kid dosage a Muscle Relaxor or Children's Tylenol for Night time. What also helps is a warm bath (or a spa if you have one.) The other thing I did was get http://www.walkfit.com/?src=affiliate&aid=13314&subid=p4
They didn't have them back Then (but something like them) when I was a child but these are what I have now and they help me so much and I don't have as much leg pains wearing these. If I don't wear them I still get muscle leg pain. (i'm in my late 20's.)
Don't get me wrong I still get leg pains. But the above things still help lesson the pain.

My daughter who's now 10 has had the same problem since she was about 3 or 4.I was told the same thing "growing pains" the ONLY thing that would take it away for her would be if we ran an extra warm bath and let her soak herself in it for awhile. We've had to do this at all hours of the night and sometimes the day but believe me it's been a lifesaver and now at age 10 she hardly ever gets them.Hope this helps alittle.

My niece had pains about a year ago - they came and went - seem to be growing pains (she is 11 and very small for her age)
she now limps, but doesn't know she does and also has no more pain - she is going for x-rays today - as her parents are still concerned (my side of the family has bad knees)
Also, she was EXTREMELY pigeoned-toed as a toddler, but is not now.
Good luck - I hope it is just those stinkin growin' pains for your daughter.
Remember, if you are not satisfied w/ one Dr.'s opinion - get another - this is YOUR kid we're talking about!

You could try some bananas as sometimes a low amount of potassium can cause leg pain. Cant hurt to try. Just give her a nice big banana as a snack at night and see if it helps.

When I was that age, I also experienced the same pain. Like muscle pain on my legs. I remember that my father gave me a pain reliever to take. It worked. It was like rheumatism.

I've experienced similar pains back during my adolescence. It might be growing pains, or it might be that she needs a little more potassium or B-complex vitamins.
Good luck!
