Use a soft cloth to gently clean the shiny surface of the CD-ROM. If the CD-ROM is dusty or has fingerprints on it, clean it with mild soap and a soft cloth. Alternatively, you may try to clean the CD-ROM with damp bath tissue; however, some bath tissues contain lanolin or other ingredients that may leave a film. If you clean the CD-ROM with damp bath tissue, dry the CD-ROM completely.

When you clean and dry the disc, wipe in a straight line from the center to the edge of the CD-ROM. Do not wipe the CD-ROM in a circle. You may have to clean the surface several times

Dirty Cd's can skip or just stop playing. For best results, use a CD cleaning fluid and anti-static cloths made for cleaning Cd's.
Instructions :
STEP 1: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for using a cleaner. In any case, put the cleaner on your cloth first, not on the CD itself.
STEP 2: Hold the disc by its edges and centre hole.
STEP 3: Use an anti-static cloth to wipe across the CD with your other hand.
STEP 4: Work from inside to outside in straight lines, not circles. STEP 5: Wipe until the CD is clean and dry.
Tips & Warnings
You can also use a soft, lint-free cloth or smooth, unscented toilet paper with the CD cleaning solution.
Household cleaning products, including alcohol, abrasive cleaners, petroleum-based products, ammonia and commercial plastic cleaners, may harm CDs.
Scrubbing, polishing and buffing may also damage CDs.

User only a soft cloth start at the center hole, and move the cloth outward in a straight line from the center hole to the edge, turn the disc and do the next swipe in the same way until the whole disc is clean.
